Iskra recognized among the best in ESG development in Slovenia

We are thrilled to announce that Iskra has been selected as one of the top 3 companies for the title of “ESG Champion of Slovenia 2024”! We were honored to receive a special recognition for our dedication to ESG development, as organized by Finance and Kearney.

Once more we are proving that sustainability is not just a buzzword to us, but a guiding principle that shapes all our corporate decisions. 

We extend special congratulations to our leaders, who put tireless efforts in raising awareness of sustainability, both within the whole Iskra Group and also beyond. We also express our gratitude to the entire IskraTeam and all our employees whose contributions, large and small, play a crucial role in achieving our sustainable goals.

At Iskra, we believe that only with a strong commitment to sustainable principles we can create a better planet for current and future generations.

In addition to a crafted strategy for reducing carbon footprint and enhancing energy efficiency, we firmly intertwine our business success with fostering sustainable practices among our employees and the broader community.

Our goal at Iskra is to significantly increase the use of energy derived from clean sources. In 2023 alone, we successfully reduced emissions across all three scopes by 830 tons, representing over a 10% reduction from the previous year, despite experiencing company growth. This reduction was achieved through waste reduction, lower energy consumption, and additional investments in battery storage systems, PV systems, and new energy-efficient machinery.

The R&D departments in Iskra are intensively engaged in the development of products with a sustainable purpose, such as Smart energy meters that enable the end user to analyze energy consumption for the best possible efficiency, and Smart gateways that enable the control of various energy consumers to predetermined settings, or pulses from sensors.

Furthermore, our commitment to sustainability extends to our acquisition endeavors, with our latest acquisition of leading Croatian wastewater treatment company, Elmap - based in Split.
